The dangerous security situation in Israel presents special challenges for persons with intellectual disabilities, their families and their devoted care professionals.  As the war continues, people with intellectual disabilities are experiencing anxiety. Some are reluctant to enter the secured rooms when sirens warning of missile attacks are sounded, thereby endangering their own life and the lives of their loved ones. Others find it difficult to remain in small spaces for long periods of time.

What is Canadian Friends of AKM doing to remedy this untenable situation?

We are raising funds to temporarily relocate people living in areas of risk to safer places. and ensuring that everyone has necessary food and other basic necessities.
