The Canadian Muslim Women’s Institute Inc. (CMWI) is a non-profit organization that was founded in 2006. CMWI is the first organization of its kind in Manitoba where Muslim women are both the leaders and participants of their own organization. The goal of the Institute is to promote and empower newcomer women and their families socially, economically and spiritually. CMWI is run by an elected Board comprised of women of diverse cultures, ages and professions.
CMWI was set up to be a direct service delivery organization serving its members through a variety of programs. These programs cater to the needs of long-time residents, the new immigrants and those that come from refugee situations.
