About Canadian Stage

Canadian Stage is one of the country’s leading not-for-profit contemporary theatre companies. Under the direction of Artistic Director Brendan Healy and Executive Director Monica Esteves, the company produces and presents theatre with a focus on emerging performance styles that integrate theatre with other artistic media such as dance, film, visual arts and more. Sharing innovative and vibrant performance work from Canada and around the world, we stage an annual season at three Toronto venues (The Bluma Appel Theatre, St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts; The Berkeley Street Theatre; and the High Park Amphitheatre), in addition to running a series of artist training, education and community outreach initiatives. Canadian Stage is dedicated to reinforcing Toronto’s position within an international cultural dialogue, by acting as a home, incubator and exporter of leading Canadian and foreign theatre. We are committed to reading the pulse of performing artists as they are working now and creating the channels for audiences to encounter and enjoy their work.
