Support For The Environment

Canadians Sharing Locally and Globally has donated tens of thousands of trees to restore forests in South India.  Our trees are donated to support local tree planting projects, including the restoration of ancient groves and reforestation of public reserves.  We also supply young fruit trees to small farms to supplement family income and restore local farming methods. We donate hardy indigenous species of trees that are well adapted and can survive the hot, dry climate of the summer months in this sun-baked Vellore region of South India.

Canadians Sharing works with one of India's leading visionary Green Organizations to help restore ecological balance to our planet. We donate trees to an all-volunteer group called Green Sakthi in South India which is involved in many diverse green initiatives.  Green Sakthi has been a key participant with reforestation successes for over 20 years and hundreds of thousands of trees have already been planted.

Where mountains and plains devoid of trees once stood, through Canadians Sharing now thriving tropical forests grow.  This extraordinary project will multiply in goodness in South India - more trees absorbing carbon dioxide, generating oxygen, and providing homes to many insects, birds and animals.  This project indirectly creates training and jobs for local workers, creates greater biodiversity and gives us the opportunity to do our part to control climate change.  Through our Environment Campaign we hope to inspire children and adults around the world to connect and care for nature - through environmental education and hands on experience in India.

Our Mission is to provide trees to restore tropical rain forests.  Just C$10 provides a 6 - 8' indigenous tree.  Help us grow our program!
