Canoe Polo Athlete and Program Development Campaign

WE HAVE REACHED OUR SECOND TIER GOAL OF $20,000!

Please help us reach our third tier goal of $30,000!

THE CAMPAIGN

Canoe Polo is a fast-paced team sport that combines kayaking, ball control, tactics, physical strength and teamwork.

In September 2026, athletes selected to the Canadian Canoe Polo National Team will represent Canoe Kayak Canada and Canada at the ICF Canoe Polo World Championships in Duisburg, Germany. This will mark Canada’s return to the event for the first time since 2018.

As a non-Olympic discipline, Canoe Polo receives limited public high-performance funding. Athletes, coaches, clubs and volunteers therefore assume much of the cost associated with training, preparation, equipment and international participation.

Canada’s return to the World Championships is an important development opportunity. The focus is not only on immediate results, but on gaining international experience, assessing the current level of the program and building a stronger foundation for future competitions.

The Canadian Canoe Polo program would like to raise money to invest in the development of Canoe Polo across Canada, coaching support, athlete development and support, and the continued growth of the national program. Your support will help strengthen the program as Canada returns to the international stage and prepares for future international competitions.

THE GOAL

Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help support the Canadian Canoe Polo program, including athlete development, coaching, coaching development, equipment and preparation for international competition.

Funds raised as a result of this campaign will go directly towards making a significant contribution to core Canoe Polo program costs. This will help reduce the financial pressure on athletes, coaches, clubs and volunteers while supporting the continued development of Canoe Polo in Canada.

ABOUT CKC'S PHILANTHROPIC INITIATIVES

Paddling is for all Canadians, whether they paddle for the leaf or for the sport.

We must continue our legacy – to ensure that paddling is available to everyone across our land so that they can experience our country in a way like no other. Paddling connects us to our history. But we’re at risk of not being able to pass down its rich tradition.

There is a crisis in sport funding in Canada. One of the major barriers in access to, promotion of, and programming in paddling is a lack of funding. But thanks to the generosity of Canadians, we can continue supporting paddling at all levels and disciplines within the sport. You can help us build paddling in Canada by making a tax-deductible charitable gift.

For the sport. For the leaf.

Contributions to the campaign over $20 are eligible for a tax receipt and you will automatically receive your tax receipt through CanadaHelps.
