About Capital City Mission

Capital City Mission (CCM) is a drop-in centre in downtown Ottawa that aims to meet both practical, emotional, and spiritual needs in the Lowertown neighbourhood, and to create a sense of 'home' in all three of these areas. 

We offer a physical sense of home by providing a safe space and address food security by providing a basic meal and hot beverages to between 130-160 individuals daily. 

We cultivate an emotional sense of home by being a trusted first point of contact for marginalized people looking for community support. Our staff assist clients in navigating and following through in accessing health care and other needed social services.

A spiritual home is fostered at CCM by understanding that health and mental health care are supported through spiritual wellbeing. We provide chaplaincy visitation to our friends in hospitals, long term care homes, and prisons, as well as a weekly Bible study. To us, spiritual care is embodied in presence, being, and wholeness.
