We are STEPPING UP for NORWOOD to raise 6.3 million in support of the new Gene Zwozdesky Centre at Norwood. The construction has begun with an anticipated opening in 2023. This new innovative complex continuing care centre will have leading-edge seniors programs, encouraging people to reach their independence no matter where they live. We are setting a new standard for care delivery for our seniors in the community and in care settings.
The new building highlights are;
The new 7 story re-development project expansion at CapitalCare Norwood will help with the growing need in the Edmonton area for continuing care capacity including complex and post-acute care.
The new centre will have a huge positive impact on both acute care bed demands and continuing care systems in Edmonton, reducing emergency department visits, inpatient acute care services, and continuing care placements.
Restorative Care the newest program for seniors provides rehabilitative care after an acute incident with the intent to assist the resident in returning back home. Senior's desire to return home is the key element in this care method and with rehabilitation suited to their needs and the setting up of needed resources at the home environment we have seen huge success with this model of care. The Restorative Care program will be a large component of care at the new Norwood. Now that’s Stepping It Up!
