As a shelter-based rescue, our cats are housed in one location. Dogs will either remain here or taken to a reputable dog rescue we trust.
Our Mission
To elevate the quality of life of cats and dogs with or without homes; rescue of those injured, neglected or to be destroyed; rehabilitate them to their best potential; re-home to the most suitable adoptive homes;reduce the numbers of pets born offering assistance with low cost spay/neuter programs and educating the public regarding the serious problem of over-population and the senseless suffering of unwanted pets that can easily be prevented with individual responsibility towards not only their own pets but to all animal companions.
About Cat-a-Match Rescue (C.A.M.R.)
The Mandate of our 'Safe Haven' follows the 5R's
Rescuing - Rehabilitation - Re-homing
Responsibility by educating the public regarding proper pet care & the life time committment to their pets
Reducing the over-population of unwanted abandoned cats (and dogs when there is a need)
Our ultimate goal and promise to our rescued animal companions is that we make every effort to ensure that..'they will NEVER have to be rescued again!'
*Since 1998 we have rescued over 1000 cats and 15 dogs. In 1999 the owner started a Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program serving the public which we are proud to say resulted in preventing the birth of approximately 2 MILLION cats that would have been born only to suffer and die on the streets. This program and 99% of the day-to-day tasks are all performed by the shelter owner due to the lack of volunteers in this rural area.
Education is on-going!
