Community organization who offer services directly to people with mental health issues through on and off-site activities.
Our Story
The Centre Social de la Croix Blanche held it’s first activity in their house at 960 avenue Dessane in Québec City in May 1971. It became the first community organization in the Quebec City region to offer services directly to people with mental health issues through on and off-site activities.
Our Mission is to curb social isolation of adults with mental health issues. We do this by offering group activities that promote personal, social and civic growth. We act based on the values of attentive listening, openness, mutual aid, fairness and respect applied in an environment that promotes social diversity.
Our Goals
- Offer support in recovery and in the ability of our members to claim power (to act) in their lives.
- Foster involvement, the building of social links and citizen participation; in order to help build a social safety net.
- Promote healthy mental and life habits to prevent amplified difficulties and hospitalizations.
- Create meet-up opportunities that promote social mixing and inclusiveness.
- Offer accessible and adapted group activities (social, cultural, sports, artistic).
