About us:
In order to help relive and remember the CFB Chilliwack history, the Canadian Forces Base Chilliwack Historical Society (CFBCHS) was created and incorporated in April 2001 as a not-for-profit society.
Our main focus is to gather, maintain, and display items for the community and share the history behind them. Another notable contribution to the community is to lend an open ear and help connect Canadians with the military history of their loved ones.
If you are seeking history on a family member who has served in the military, or seeking more information on their keepsakes - we can help!
All year long we offer veterans chats and presentations between the community, schools and veterans which is part of our Chilliwack/Canada remembers program. Dedicated to our veterans, the whole idea is to express our appreciation to the people and families and caregivers of those that served in the Canadian Forces. This allows veterans to express themselves, communicate their needs and requirements and also gets their stories out to the public.
We invite you to come learn about military experiences from local Veterans. Hear the stories that impact our history.
Our archives comprise of a collection of around 35,000 different military objects like pictures, clothing, books and other items.
We are always happy to welcome new members to our society to help us on our mission!
