To collaborate with the global Chinese churches, offering context-relevant theological education and carrying out research, so that the churches may fulfill the Great Commission in their locality.

Vision

Research Centre

The centre will conduct research on the global Chinese churches to assess the current situation and to suggest way forward for ministries and development of churches. Research will focus on congregational and intergenerational studies, and the impacts of secularism and cultural pluralism on the church. The finding of the research will be implemented in churches through publications, training, and academic programs.

Lay Theological Education (LTE) 

LTE will provide theological courses that are relevant to the needs of Chinese Christians in Toronto and the global diaspora in their unique contextualized situations. Most classes will be conducted in person, but a hybrid format may also be adopted. The initial plan is to offer 2 courses per quarter starting in 2026. All courses will be offered in a standard 4-session format and will be non-credit bearing.

Pastoral Support

The Greater Toronto Area has over a hundred Chinese churches, ministering to a large number of believers.  Many pastors also serve obliterate and trilingual congregations. Their ministry calls for holistic support — spiritually, theologically, and practically. CGST Toronto is committed to walking alongside the church, offering resources and support to pastors in their service through seminary faculty, experienced pastors, counselors and more.
