The Child Development Foundation of British Columbia, supporting The Centre for Child Development raises much needed funds to support the therapies and programs provided to children with special and support needs and their families. Since 1953, The Centre for Child Development has been helping children with special needs reach their potential. We started as a grass-roots group of parents cooperatively organizing transportation to therapy sessions in Vancouver. Through the decades, we’ve grown to a team of over 200 staff with expertise in providing a wide range of collaborative therapeutic services to over 8,000 children each year. The Centre offers specialized multi-disciplinary services for children with special needs including: Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Communication Therapy, Recreation Therapy (fully accessible pool), Casting & Splinting, Feeding Team, equipment customization, Early Years program, Family Services, Key Workers, pediatric Psychology, Supported Child Development, fully integrated Childcare, and Sophie's Place Child and Youth Advocacy Centre.
