We provide food, shelter, healthcare and education for South Sudanese orphans at the Hope for Children Orphanage in Gambella
Children of Promise Canada is a registered charity which has been operating out of Waterloo region since 1992 helping to improve the lives of abandoned and orphaned children. We are strictly volunteer based in order to ensure that admin costs are minimal.
Over time, our sole focus has narrowed to provide hope for the children of South Sudan who have been caught up in a humanitarian crisis not of their making. The country of South Sudan is one of the poorest and most troubled and undeveloped countries in the world; made worse by harsh weather and a civil war that has been going on before and after its independence from Sudan in 2011. 93 out of 1000 children die before their 5th birthday and 65% of children have no access to education.
We are dedicated to helping orphaned and abandoned children of South Sudan by providing them with:
- Food, water, healthcare, clothing and shelter
- Free schooling and the opportunity for higher education
- Instruction in the Word of God
- Much needed love and support
What makes us unique:
Our organization is run by volunteers and our admin expenses are limited in order that approximately 90% of donations goes towards caring for approximately 200 children in our care at the Hope for Life Orphanage situated in Gambella on the border of Ethiopia and South Sudan.
