About CHILLIWACK SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS
The Chilliwack School of Performing Arts (CSOPA) is Chilliwack, BC's only premier theatre arts school for performers ages 3 to 24. CSOPA was incorporated as a society in 2001. At CSOPA, we offer quality learning opportunities in many aspects of stage performance and production such as acting, voice, dance, and design. Classes and programs at CSOPA are facilitated by professionally qualified instructors. These instructors also cast and direct the students in major theatrical productions performed for community-wide audiences, while encouraging and pursuing diverse storytelling opportunities.
The school supports the development of each performer’s creativity and self-confidence, giving them tools to realize their dreams and goals throughout their lives. CSOPA curates an environment for brave work, regardless of background, ability, orientation, or identity. CSOPA relies on significant community and volunteer support to realize its mandate of fostering the creativity of the young citizens of Chilliwack.
Each year’s flagship program, Mainstage, puts on a large-scale production of 10+ shows, and reaches over 5000 people.
We invite you to be part of our story as we continue to grow and offer the best possible arts performance opportunities for the youth in our community. Tuition fees paid by students only cover basic operating costs. The financial support of our incredible donors and sponsors will ensure that the youth in our community have the support, materials and resources they need to pursue their creative talents and artistic skills.
