Chinmaya Mission Vancouver

about

Promoting the inner transformation of individuals through the knowledge of Vedanta

Chinmaya Mission was formed in 1953 in order to spread the ancient teachings of Vedanta, the logic of spirituality, to people all around the world. Today, it is a worldwide movement with thousands of members from all walks of life.

Inspired by Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinamayananda’s visit to British Columbia in 1972 for a lecture series at Simon Fraser University, Chinmaya Mission Vancouver (CMV) was started to continue spreading this Vedantic knowledge and play an important in fostering the culture of India in the minds of the people of Vancouver.

CMV conducts weekly classes for children, youth, and adults as well as hosting events throughout the year such as Jnana Yajnas, lecture series, festival celebrations, and more.

The aim of the Mission is to impart the timeless and universal science of Vedanta and infuse its members with dynamic wisdom through further knowledge of the Self. This dynamism can be seen in the hundreds of schools, hospitals, and rural upliftment projects the Mission funds and oversees.
