About CHRISTMAS BUREAU OF EDMONTON
Non-denominational and accessible to all Edmontonians in need, the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton raises funds to provide a festive meal to Edmonton families, seniors and individuals. Approximately 45% of the clients served are children and teens under the age of 18 years. The Christmas Bureau also administers the Adopt-A-Teen program which provides teens aged 13 to 17 years of age a Christmas gift card. The Christmas Bureau coordinates with other Christmas charities to ensure the reduction of duplication of service. The Christmas Bureau is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, and is a volunteer driven organization with over 700 volunteers who devote their time and talents ensuring Edmontonians in need can enjoy a Canadian tradition with a festive meal. Working with the social service agencies in Edmonton or through self-referrals, clients are screened for eligibility.
