Christy was known as a “Gift Giver” ... friends and family were always impressed by her originality and care in choosing gifts for any occasion. She also gave of her time and resources to various causes important to her. And she taught her students the importance of caring for and sharing with others, through her day-to-day teaching, and via her organization of Food Drives and Terry Fox Runs at Alpine School. Christy directed that after her passing, donations were to be made to 27 different charities in her name.
In order to honour Christy’s memory and to continue her practice of gift giving, her family has founded “Christy’s Legacy Foundation”, a CRA approved charity which is dedicated to continuing Christy’s gift giving. The foundation will raise funds and donate 100% of those funds to various charities which support the causes that were so important to Christy.
