Make your children learn music, the world will be more beautiful - Père Lindsay
The mission of École de musique Fernand-Lindsay is to provide children, teenagers and adults with high quality musical training tailored to their needs. In addition, the school aims to do the promotion of music in all its forms, be it classical, popular, jazz or traditional. The initiation of toddlers is one of the many ways used to do so. The school is present in the community to give everyone a chance to access music for free or at a lower cost. The benefits of music are huge, and yet almost unknown! That's why we are working hard to share this news with kids, teenagers and seniors who sometimes find themselves on more difficult paths.
The École de musique Fernand-Lindsay is a non-profit organization that has been operating on the territory of Lanaudière for 44 years and has been able to adapt and renew itself over the years. The high caliber lessons offered with a constant concern for excellence are suitable for beginners or advanced students, whether they wish to develop an extracurricular musical activity, improve their skills and stand out or simply for the pleasure of learning music. The school is propelled by a team of experienced professionals and professors with a proven track record in their area of specialization.
The teachings of École de musique Fernand-Lindsay are a natural continuation of the clergy of Saint-Viateur’s work at the Séminaire de Joliette. Over the years, several young & skilled musicians took their first steps at our school. Among other talents: Olivier Thouin, Annie Parent, Angèle Dubeau, Luc Beauséjour, Louis-Philippe Marsolais, Jean-Sebastien Roy, Luc Chaput, Elaine Marcil and Charles Richard-Hamelin, spokesperson for the school and brilliant pianist who won the 2nd prize at the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition. All these artists are now an integral part of Quebec's musical life and constitute our pride!
