Academic Upgrading is often the first step for someone in reaching their learning goals particularly when life had other plans for them in young adulthood. CNC Academic Upgrading creates a welcoming environment where adult students of all ages can be successful and gain the confidence to keep going on their learning journey.  

In partnership with Amelia Merrick, Dean of Academic Upgrading and Continuing Education, CNC is building momentum to support students that are taking the leap through education to improve their ability to support themselves, their families, and their communities. Funds raised will be divided between student bursaries for those on a path to achieve an Adult Dogwood and low-barrier hardship funds to ensure they can focus on their studies when something goes sideways.  

Academic Upgrading students often go on to post-secondary studies: some go in to trades or vocational training becoming career-ready in months; others take an academic approach and go on to university. No matter their next steps we are proud of them and want them to feel supported at CNC as they break out of their limits.
