Our Mission
Our mission
The Comite populaire Saint-Jean-Baptiste is a non-profit community group developed out of the involvement and commitment of tenants living in the Quebec-city's Saint-Jean-Baptiste neighborhood. Our priority is to defend the rights and interests of the population.
Our interventions aim to promote an urban development that take into account the specificity of the neighborhood. Our actions are also linked to the improvement of the socio-economic life of the population. For over thirty years, our organization have been fighting to protect the residential character of the neighborhood, especially the availability of decent and affordable housing.
In addition, the Comite popular, through his newspaper Infobourg and other public events, informs and raises awareness, helps generate reflection and debate on matters of public interest as it helps out low-income households break their isolation and assert their rights.
