Residential Support Services

Community Living South Huron operates 6 homes (4 in Exeter, 2 in Egmondville/Seaforth) that provide 24 hour supports to people with a developmental disability. Each home is unique in the needs that are supported and with the activities that occur. These differences are based on the residents' desires and abilities defined on a daily basis as well as each individual's Person Centered Plan. The number of people supported in the home varies from 3 to 4. Five of our homes have basement apartments. These apartments offer a higher degree of independence but still provide the security of a 24 hour setting.

Community Participation Supports

CLSH’s Community Participation Supports provides a safe and engaging environment to empower people to become active, contributing members in their own communities. The person-centred supports provided by our Community Participation Supports program and via individual’s Passport Funding (an individualized, direct funding allocation from MCCSS) helps individuals to pursue new experiences, challenges, and relationships. These avenues also provide people supported to develop skills, interests, and goals for their future.

Supported Independent Living

What is Supported Independent Living? Supported independent living is a program designed to help people with a developmental disability live independently in their own homes. People in the program receive support in finances, medical, nutrition, relationships and everyday problem solving. The amount of support provided is determined by the person's skills and comfort in living alone.
