In 2019 we're celebrating 40 years since the tenant groups of the "Old Y" building joined together, formed the nonprofit association that was eventually re-named CommunityWise, and saved the building from demolition. We carry on this legacy by serving as an inclusive, equitable, and affordable hub for 90 nonprofit and grassroots member organizations who call the building their home.
In this "quadragennial" year we've set a fundraising goal of $6000 to ensure that we can continue to do what we do best -- operate a beautiful, but aging, historic building while prioritizing space and supports for small organizations who represent, and work with, equity-seeking communities and critical social, environmental, and cultural issues. Funds raised will go toward some of the core costs necessary to carry on this essential work: building supplies, building repairs, and staffing.
This is a collective effort and all amounts move us closer to $6000! There is also an option to set yourself up as a monthly donor.
