About Comox Military Family Resource Centre
Frequent moves, extended absences and service stressors are just a few of the reasons why military family life is like no other.
In 1991 the Department of National Defence formally recognized the valuable contributions families make to the Canadian Forces, establishing the Military Family Support Program and authorizing the establishment of Military Family Resource Centres (MFRC) at each Canadian Forces installation. Each MFRC is a community-based organization and their mission is to address the needs of the military family.
The Comox Military Family Resource Centre (Comox MFRC) is a registered non-profit society that works to support serving and retired military members and their families in the 19 Wing Comox geographical area. A wide variety of programs and services are provided to the community by a multi-disciplinary team of core staff, trained volunteers, and partners in the local community.
