Compassionate Communities Kingston Canada is part of a global movement to help people learn how to care for each other in our communities. We are passionate about living well and dying well, and are working to create a culture of support and caring in our community.

A Compassionate Community recognizes that all natural cycles of sickness and health, birth and death, and love and loss, occur every day. In times of crisis, community members, and not just health professionals, can watch over and care for each other. We want to build a collaborative society where people feel comfortable asking for and accepting help, and people and organizations are confident and ready to provide that help to those who ask.

Our current projects:

• Community Connector Hub: we are creating a hub of community members who know about local resources and services and can help other citizens find the help that they need.
• Community Resource Directory: we are working with existing directories to include community resources that help reduce social isolation and loneliness.
• Advance Care Planning: we hold workshops to help people think about and communicate their wishes for future health care.
