CNHPS is a non-profit that offers support to seniors and promotes neighbourhood resilience. Our vision is that no older adult should feel isolated, lonely, or unsupported in their community.

We serve seniors by connecting them to community resources. British Columbia's senior demographic percentage has increased greatly. Although most seniors would like to remain in their own homes for as long as possible, their support networks are shrinking, and many seniors have few family members nearby. Research indicates increasing loneliness and/or social isolation among our senior population; this can lead to other chronic conditions or increase the severity of chronic conditions.

CNHPS offers the following programs:

1. Our Seniors Connect Café is a weekly meeting where seniors can enjoy a free coffee/tea and socialize while learning about relevant community and health care resources. Where we offer health services information, our volunteers have a health profession background.

2. The Family Caregiver Support Group allows caregivers of older adults to meet and share their insights, successes, and challenges while mutually supporting one another. These events are facilitated by trained volunteers.

3. Our Intergenerational Program consists of a virtual weekly telephone or zoom calls between seniors and youth (15 to 26 years), as well as in-person intergenerational events where youth and seniors play board games, make crafts, and chat together.

4. CNHPS also provides One-on-One support for seniors living with chronic conditions, serious illnesses, frailty, grief or loneliness.

5. Our Neighbourhood Connections program trains volunteers to coordinate neighbourhood connections and offer small acts of kindness for those neighbours that are facing difficult circumstances.
