Our mission is to accelerate discovery, broaden participation in science, and strengthen the public good by providing nonprofit-driven computing infrastructure for researchers and innovators who lack access.

About Computing for Humanity

Computing for Humanity (CFH) is a Canadian registered charity founded in 2015 to democratize access to advanced computing for researchers. We believe computation should be a public good, not a privilege reserved for elite institutions or corporations.

CFH has supported research over the years through various programs, including:

1. Myresearchcloud.ca: This is Canada’s first nonprofit research cloud that provides virtual machines and storage, which are essential components for research in the digital era.
2. Contributed Systems: This initiative redeploys donated servers to universities for research purposes, thereby expanding access and diverting over 50 tons of electronic waste.
3. Opportunistic Workloads: CFH donates more than 10 million CPU/GPU hours annually to global projects focused on important issues such as curing diseases, studying proteins, and understanding climate change, among other fields of research.
