Provide and sponsor seminars, speakers, public events, displays, presentations to community groups and educational materials.

Cooperate and partner with other organizations and individuals concerned with enhancing and protecting the environment.

Conduct research, develop and support projects on important environmental issues.

Provide a liaison between members and all levels of government.

Advise the Hamilton Community Foundation on the awarding of grants via the Ed Smee Conserver Society Environmental Fund Committee

THE CONSERVER SOCIETY OF HAMILTON AND DISTRICT, Inc.

With a fifty-one year history, the Conserver Society of Hamilton & District,  Inc., a grass roots education and action organization on environmental issues, grew out of CHOP (Clear Hamilton of Pollution) which started in 1969. Past activities have included: composting programmes, bicycle paths, reduction of excess packaging, environmental education, and reduction of pesticide use. Board Committees have also participated in regional waste-management, air quality and transportation initiatives. The Society established an Environmental Trust, now known as the Ed Smee Environmental Trust and is a founding member of the Environmentalist of the Year Awards.

We invite you to join us in our on-going efforts to protect and enhance the ecosystems of Hamilton and surrounding areas.
