Laulane is a poor district of Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. Far from being homogeneous, Laulane presents a motley profile: diverse ethnicities and languages, diverse religions and cultures, unequal education. At the Spirituality Center of the Sao Paulo Mission, we know that it is not always easy to work together for young people who have so little in common. Father Lopez, head of the center, wants to offer activities adapted to his clientele.
Workshops as a place of exchange between teenagers
Father. Lopez wants to set up courses of capoeira, a discipline that combines martial art, music, dance and play. An activity that will catalyze the energies of young people and allow them to communicate. The missionary sees adolescents as full citizens. He wants to encourage them to find their own solutions to the problems they experience through meaningful discussion workshops and shared accomplishments.
Learning for moms
Drugs are expensive and not affordable for the Laulane population. With moms, Father Lopez wants to expand his project of a traditional pharmacopoeia to offer ointments and syrups at low prices. How about participating in the financial package of his project? Father Lopez needs $ 12,500 to keep the center on track. A gift, a dose of hope.
