The Cortes Community Housing Society (CHS) has raised over $1.6 million toward building affordable, stable, year-round housing for Cortes Islanders. We’re very close to our goal of $1.7 million: the amount we’ll need to move forward with a townhouse rental project at Rainbow Ridge, in the heart of Mansons Landing.
This project runs on community money: large and small donations from people who love this island and want it to be a strong, diverse, and interconnected place. Monthly sustaining donations are especially impactful for us, no matter how small. Another way to help is by donating stocks and other securities via Canada Helps.
Thanks to community support, affordable housing is already happening for 10 fortunate elders in the Seniors Village, and soon we plan to house 24 more individuals/families in the Rainbow Ridge project on Cortes Island.
