10th Annual Chris Rose Walk for Autism

Saturday, September 25, 2021, is our 10th Annual Chris Rose Walk for Autism. We held our first walk in April of 2011, and the event has continued to grow within the autism community. All funds raised from this event stay within the Centre to promote programs and services for individuals with autism (children, youth and adults).

What does the day traditionally look like? The Walk starts at the NorKam soccer field, with registration starting at 10:00 AM, and we'll begin warming up at 10:45 AM. All participants will proceed to McArthur Island, then return to the NorKam Soccer field where the North Kamloops Lions Club will have hamburgers and hot dogs available for purchase for a small fee.

This year we have found a way to open the walk up to a much wider audience. We have an online waiver this year, and with the option of CanadaHelps we have also found a way that people can safely pledge and donate from a distance. You don't have to 'walk' to take part -- you can wheel, cycle, even drive if you like.

The Walk will take about an hour to complete (it all depends on how far you want to go, and how fast you are!). Registration is by donation, but there is a minimum $10 donation to receive a T-shirt.

If you would like to help us promote the walk, we will have posters and pledge forms available at the Centre (you can also e-mail us for them as well, or message us on Facebook). We also welcome sponsors, vendors and exhibits for the event.

Autism Awareness is represented by the color blue as well as multicolor puzzle pieces, so we encourage you to dress as awesome as you would like.

This is an all-inclusive event which is open to everyone.
