Our Mission
Our mission is to enhance the provision of a high standard of health care within Cumberland County by raising funds and supporting new and improved services, programs, equipment and facilities.
About CUMBERLAND HEALTH CARE FOUNDATION
The Cumberland Health Care Foundation primarily supports the regional acute care facility for Cumberland County (the Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre) as well as funding County-wide programs such as Cumberland Cancer Assistance, Palliative Care, the Cumberland Health Care Careers Bursary, and Mental Health & Addictions. Funding of programs and services is in alignment with the Nova Scotia Health Authority to ensure maximum usage of donated dollars.
While the General Fund provides the most flexibility to use donations where they are needed most special funds have been set up for Palliative Care, Cumberland Cancer Assistance, Mental Health & Addictions, the Hospital Gardens, the Teddy Bear Pediatrics Fund, Equipment Fund, Clara Bacon Bursary, Endowment Funds and more.
