Sammy's Gala is an annual fundraiser based in Montreal inspired by Sammy, a 24-year-old living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA). Diagnosed at just 9 months old, Sammy's parents were told he would not live past his second birthday. Despite this prognosis, Sammy defied the odds, and his journey sparked a relentless fight for a cure. Over the past 20 years, Sammy's Gala has raised over $2 million, with all proceeds benefiting Cure SMA Canada. These funds support individuals and families in the Canadian SMA community, fuel vital research to improve treatments and care, and advocate for access to life-saving therapies. The next Sammy’s Gala will be taking place on April 5, 2025.
