Funding projects that advance education and alleviate poverty in Southeast Asia.
Earthquake response - The post-earthquake situation is extremely variable, with villages and towns with many deaths and wounded and very serious damage and problems, and then nearby villages and towns with not many problems. The health care system is not able to cope and patients with money drive to far away hospitals to get surgery. Still many wounded are yet to receive care. Many people sleep on the streets, in their canoes as their houses are completely destroyed and they have no food.
What is CW Asia Fund Foundation Doing? With our partners on the ground responded immediately, ensuring that aid reached those in urgent need by prioritizing the most affected and underserved communities. Our approach is practical and responsive, with a long history of working in challenging environments, and this experience, like Cyclone Nargis and during covid-19, allows our our partners to act quickly and efficiently, going directly to affected communities, working with volunteers from local organisations. This allows swift delivery of essential supplies, financial assistance, and medical care without unnecessary delay.
Non emergency work: CW Asia Fund Foundation funds projects that advance education and alleviate poverty in Southeast Asia. Through education, medical attention, proper nutrition and vocational training, CW Asia Fund's mission is to empower and educate the poor. We contribute to projects that provide access to clean water, nutrition, basic healthcare, and income-generation for families.
CWAF also procures in-kind donations of pharmaceuticals and surplus lifesaving medical supplies that are often difficult or expensive to obtain.
It costs so little to help a child in Southeast Asia to prevent or treat child malnutrition, malaria, tuberculosis, or dysentery. Global statistics overwhelmingly show healthy children have a better chance of overcoming poverty and succeeding in life.
