With an educational and equity mandate at our core, Dance Media Group connects communities and contributes to a culture of literacy about dance art and culture.
Such work happens through our flagship print publication The Dance Current; ongoing regular public dialogue through social media channels reflecting our digital monthly content and archive; and, mentorship programming that seeks to elevate underrepresented dance writers and voices; support interns; and nurture emerging critics via institutional partnerships across Canada.
As the only organization of our kind - and now only print magazine - for dance in Canada, Dance Media Group plays an essential role in catalyzing dance conversations, dance education and dance discourse.
What People Are Saying
"As an artist, having the support of a media outlet such as The Dance Current has certainly increased the reach and awareness on my work. It is definitely critical to have opportunities to build support for the art form outside of the theatre."
