Please join me for some Birthday Cake on Saturday, Aug. 19, in Regent Park, Toronto... where I now live and "work".
One of my post-retirement "jobs" is helping out with a Fitness Program for neighbours with mobility issues. Every week, we do breathing, stretching, and resistance-training exercises... followed by dancing! We have a great time moving to the music of Elvis, Doris Day, Gladys Night, Abba, etc.... choreographed by wonderful and talented instructors from "Dancing with Parkinsons".
Inspired by Andy Barrie, the former CBC radio host, Dancing with Parkinsons holds both on-line and in-person dancing sessions... always free of charge... 365 days of the year... aimed at improving our collective quality of life, through controlled movement.
