Our Mission
Founded by Father Emmett Johns (“Pops”) in 1988, Dans la rue helps homeless youth and those in precarious situations. With the support of the community, we respond to their immediate needs and accompany them with respect, empathy, and dedication toward a more independent and fulfilling life.
About us
Each year, more than 1,000 young people aged 12 to 25 find support at Dans la rue. We offer a range of essential services: the Roulotte, the Bunker (emergency shelter), the Day Center, Family Services, Supervised Housing, and the Emmett-Johns School.
We are there during the most difficult times, but also to celebrate small and big victories. Our comprehensive and non-judgmental approach allows young people to catch their breath, regain confidence, and rebuild their future.

• $10 feeds 7 youths at the Van or provides 1 hygiene kit
• $25 serves 3 meals in the Day Centre cafeteria
• $40 provides 1 day at Emmett-Johns School
• $75 offers 1 home visit by Family Services

• $150 gives 1 safe night at the Bunker
• $200 provides 1 week at Emmett-Johns School
• $250 supplies 1 hot dog night at the Van
