Founded in 1968, Dawson was Quebec’s first English language CEGEP and remains the largest in the English language sector with over 7,500 full-time and 2,000 part-time students.
As a College in the province of Quebec, aware of its responsibility to contribute to the intellectual, economic and social development of our society, Dawson College believes that it is equally important to prepare students for further academic education and for immediate employment.
The Dawson College Foundation was established as a non-profit organization to support the College in providing the highest quality education to its broad and diverse student population.
The fundraising goals of the Foundation generally fall into three categories
• Awards and scholarships - rewarding the academic excellence of our students
• Financial Aid - helping to provide financial aid to students in need, regardless of their academic achievement, to ensure they can complete their education
• Enrichment of student life – providing financial support for a broad spectrum of extra-curricular activities that allow our students to mature as individuals and prepare for their future role in society.
About DAWSON COLLEGE
One of the current priorities of the Foundation is the creation of the Peace Garden. The goal of the Peace Garden at Dawson College is to create a green space that is both commemorative and symbolic, of life and renewal, peace and remembrance, beauty and serenity, and that inspires teaching and learning, which is our academic mission, while making a positive environmental impact.
