Deer Lodge Centre Foundation was established in 1990 to raise awareness and funds for programs, services, and research at Deer Lodge Centre.
Deer Lodge Centre has grown from a long-term care facility for Veterans into a leading health care facility that serves a broad range of inpatient and community needs, including rehabilitation services, outreach programs in geriatric mental health, respiratory therapy programs, and a Geriatric Assessment Clinic and Adult Day Care (PRIME) for cognitively impaired community clients.
The Operational Stress Injuries Clinic, Movement Disorder Clinic, Assistive Technology Products and Services, and services for ALS patients have all been initiated in response to community need.
Deer Lodge Centre is a national leader in geriatric research, particularly in the area of quality of life. Through affiliation with the University of Manitoba, the Collaborative Research Unit housed within the Centre undertakes applied research projects every year.
Deer Lodge Centre Foundation was established in 1990 to raise awareness and funds for programs, services, and research at Deer Lodge Centre.
Our overhead and salary costs are defrayed by the income from an endowment fund set up early in the Foundation’s development. Very few charitable organizations are able to make that claim. This means every penny donated to our Foundation goes directly to the programs, services and capital projects of Deer Lodge Centre.
