Who We Are:

The Desert Valley Hospice Society is a charitable organization committed to supporting excellence in the delivery of hospice palliative care for residents of the communities of Oliver, Osoyoos. and Okanagan Falls. The goal of end of life care is the same regardless of setting: to ensure the best possible quality of life for clients and their families. ​

What We Do:

Public awareness and education: Through media events and presentations, we work to educate community members about hospice palliative care.

Awareness and support: Our trained hospice volunteers are available to assist and support individuals and their families/caregivers through our programs and services, including, one-to-one client support,  hospital/residential care visiting, an adult  supportive care day program, palliative massage, grief and bereavement support, among others.

Fundraising: Our various events supported by the generous donations from our communities are used to help further our vision and programming.

Advocacy:  Supporting people so that they can have a 'good finish' needs to be a key priority of government and health care services.  To that end, we lobby and educate key decision makers to improve support and services for those needing palliative care.

Honouring the Memories of Loved Ones:  Some of our special events, including our Celebration of Caring Hands and Hike for Hospice offer opportunities to honour the memories of loved ones lost to illness.

Caring for Our Communities Into the Future: The care and support of individuals with life-limiting illness is our top priority.  We are also committed to growing our hospice programs and enhancing our abilities to best meet the growing need for hospice, palliative, end of life care and services in our communities.
