About DIABETE QUEBEC

Diabete Quebec is …

• a non-profit association that has been supporting people with diabetes since 1954

• three areas of strategic support:

  ˗ Information for people living with diabetes, health professionals and the public through programs, tools and services to help control the disease and prevent complications, in order to empower patients and make them more autonomous following their diagnosis;

  ˗ Defending the interests and rights of people with diabetes with government, health services, companies and associations, thus furthering the progress of better living conditions for people with diabetes;

  ˗ Promoting the advancement of research to prevent, control and ultimately defeat diabetes through grants, research funds and other innovative practices.

• through InfoDiabetes, our bilingual information and referral service via telephone hotline and email
• through our quarterly magazine, Dia·Logue (since 1959) (French only)
• through the Diabete Quebec Professional Council (since 1980)
• by awarding scholarships to Québec students and leading researchers in the Province. More than $6.7 million in the past 30 years.

Diabete Quebec believes that training must be at the heart of all interventions with people living with diabetes and with health professionals. That's why we created Universi-D, the school of diabetes.
