BC is in a State of Emergency with hundreds of fires burning in our province. Smokey skies, eerie sunsets, and low air quality have people concerned. 2018 has been ranked as the 4th worst fire season in BC. Over 380,000 hectors have burnt. This year fires have not been as close to communities and evacuations are less than last year.
But... thousands of people have had to leave their homes, fire fighters from across the world have arrived to help, and supplies are being brought in to help anyone affected by the fires.
Disaster Aid Canada is collaborating with other organizations to bring supplies to people experiencing Evacuation order. These supplies may change from shipment to shipment; the goal remains the same...to help where help is needed.
Hygiene supplies were sent to the Evacuation Center opened in Williams Lake. Other items will be sent to Evacuation Centers throughout BC. This is very reactive work and usually needs are immediate. Please donate what you can to help BC Residents.
