Powerful Earthquakes Continue to Devastate the Philippines —Thousands Still Need Your Help

This week, the Philippines was hit by a 7.8-magnitude earthquake, killing at least 35 people. We're still supporting communities from last winter's devastation, and they were hit again. 

From earthquakes to typhoons, the Philippines continues to be struck by devastating destruction. Homes have been reduced to rubble, families torn apart, and thousands are now desperate for aid. Last winter, at least 70 lives were lost in the first days, and many more people were injured or missing. Countless families were left sleeping in the open, huddled together as aftershocks continue to shake what’s left of their world.

Clean water — the most basic human need — is now dangerously scarce. With water systems shattered and power lines down, entire communities face the growing threat of deadly disease.

Last winter, our Disaster Aid International partners, Disaster Aid UK & Ireland and Disaster Aid Australia, were on the ground bringing hope through SkyHydrant™ water filtration systems. Each SkyHydrant™ can provide over 10,000 litres of safe drinking water every day, enough for up to 1,000 people. These remarkable systems require no electricity and can transform contaminated water into clean, safe water within minutes.
