Mission:The Dixville Foundation (1974) contributes towards various projects, which promote a better quality of life for persons with intellectual disability or an autism spectrum disorder. The foundation dedicates itself to the development of users human potential, autonomy and social integration, for the overcoming of cognitive and behavioral limitations. Over the years, many activities were made possible for the users thanks to donations and the Foundation funding campaigns:
- Participation in the Special Olympics games;
- Exhibitions of their works of art;
- Organization of leisure, recreational and sports activities (hiking, cultural events, dances, summer garden project, etc.);
- Support to users who live alone;
- Purchase of medical and specialized rehabilitative equipment as well as educational material towards learning in young children;
- Acquisition and maintenance of buildings for services provided to the users in need;
- Funding and management of a recreational community center (Drop-in center).
Additionally, the Foundation organizes annual fund-raising events.
