GlobalMedic provides emergency relief to those affected by natural disasters and complex emergencies. In doing so, we empower the emergency response capacity of organizations and communities in the developing world by providing technological equipment and training. GlobalMedic strives to deliver the maximum amount of aid with the minimum operating cost.
GlobalMedic is the operational arm of the David McAntony Gibson Foundation (DMGF). We operate as a registered Canadian charity, and our mandate is to save lives by providing short-term, rapid response in the wake of disasters and crisis, both at home and abroad. GlobalMedic achieves this through our well-developed Emergency Programs and our internationally deployable Rapid Response Team (RRT). Just like first-responders in any crisis: we rely on key skills and tools to get the job done. Those tools are the basis of our 4 core Emergency Programs:
Water, Medical, Shelter and Search & Rescue.
Each Program has a range of components, and are highly scalable to the size of the crisis, and available funding. The programs are also modular, meaning that we can activate as many or as few as needed, in whatever combination the situation demands. RRT Team members receive training in our Emergency Programs, and travel around the world and across Canada to implement them in order to save lives.
