Supporting Canada’s Wildfire Responders
Canada’s wildfire seasons are becoming increasingly devastating, threatening communities from coast to coast to coast. To protect lives and infrastructure, local fire departments, especially in smaller municipalities and Indigenous communities, urgently need to extend their operational reach.
GlobalMedic, in partnership with GlobalFire, is meeting this need by procuring and distributing versatile fire skid units.
What they are: Portable systems equipped with 1,000L water tanks, pumps, and hoses.
How they help: They mount onto standard pickup trucks or UTVs, transforming utility vehicles into nimble, off-road firefighting apparatus that maximize limited manpower.
The Lending Library Model: Equipment is loaned to under-resourced departments during active fires, then returned to us at the end of the season for maintenance, storage, and redeployment the following year.
