Despite Ontario's reopening and easing restrictions, many families in the GTA are still reeling from the impacts of the COVID-19. Food insecurity has drastically increased after months of lockdown across the country, and families are still going hungry. Food banks have felt this increase as well, and have been inundated with clients, leaving shelves empty and families in need. GlobalMedic continues to bring nutritious, and delicious food to food-insecure families in the GTA. GlobalMedic packages grocery hampers called Feed the Six kits, containing nutritious dried staple foods such as lentils, chickpeas, green peas, rice and pasta. By mobilizing volunteers to pack bulk ingredients into 500g packs, then packing a variety of ingredients into the hampers, GlobalMedic can provide more food to vulnerable households at a lower cost.

One Love Family Services is fundraising to provide vulnerable households with a Feed the Six food kit for their monthly food drives. Kits will be provided to food insecure households via curb side pick up in North York, and via volunteer delivery throughout the GTA. Please give generously!
