Dogs and Cats of the Dominican Republic is a U.S. 501 c 3 non-profit and a Canadian Registered Charity that is dedicated to improving the health and well-being of the animals of the Dominican Republic. We are an all volunteer organization that adopts animals off the streets of the Dominican Republic, performs spay/neuter clinics to keep the animal population down, provides education to help the Dominicans help their animals, provide emergency vet services, and perform community outreach where we go out and provide parasite medicines, basic care, and a little love to over 2000 animals per month.
What People Are Saying
" I was a travel companion from POP to Toronto last April, excellent experience, it was a breeze to go through customs, I would recommend to do it to anyone, it is so easy and it would help a dog getting to their new home. "
— Marie Champagne
"I'm fostering Mona, a street dog from Costambar, who is being adopted by a family in Green Bay, Wisconsin. She's a sweetheart and I'll miss her but come mid-October, she'll be with her forever family! Fostering is difficult but it is also very rewarding!"
— Judy Palmer
" I’ve reached out to help to help transport an animal when I visit the Dominican in April and was welcomed by a friendly team and provided with the information I needed to be able to help. Very nice people and friendly response when I offered to help"

"We adopted Teddy from DCDR over a month ago. He has been a blessing to our family. DCDR is doing amazing things for the animals in tha Dominion Republic and have made the adoption process a wonderful experience. "

"We adopted Parker from her foster here in Ontario. Parker was a street dog but you’d never know that today. She is the sweetest most loveable girl with an unreal personality. The process of adopting her was remarkably smooth but with checks and balances to ensure she’d be going to a good home. "
— Tracy Jamieson
"We found these kittens abandoned in a plaza had 5 days to find them a home together and without DCDR they would have ended up abandoned again. These kittens are really something special and we are so so grateful that they have been rehomed in an incredibly efficient and caring fashion."
