Our Mission
Our mission and primary responsibility is to provide direct services to persons experiencing domestic violence.
We offer shelter, resources and support to women and children who have fled domestic violence through our second stage transition home, Eva's House. The families who stay at Eva's House are given the best opportunity to live without fear, with the comfort of a secure and fully furnished private home. They have access to outreach services, live among other women in similar situations, near schools, community and recreation centers. The home allows the women to focus on their children, take the time to heal, and get back on their feet.
The Society is committed to raising awareness about domestic abuse and relationship violence to individuals and groups in classrooms, churches, businesses and through a process of education appropriate for each group. We offer a Speakers' Bureau to help provide awareness to our networks, strengthens the knowledge of the issues of domestic violence among them and potentially save lives.
Domestic Abuse Services also offers a Help Line to victims of domestic abuse. The Help Line is open 365 days a year and is run by trained volunteer operators. Through this service, individuals can seek individual support and find invaluable resources to legal, financial, psychological and even spiritual services or simply someone to talk to about their situation. The operators are ready to listen, even when the caller isn't quite ready to talk.
