The board of the Dorchester Memorial Public Library raises funds to purchase material for the library collection and to assist with library programs. The library, which was founded as the Dorchester Memorial Library after the Second World War, is now a part of the New Brunswick Public Library Service. Its collection includes books, periodicals, audiobooks, and a collection of DAISY Talking Books for those with a print disability from the Centre for Equitable Library Access. It also has public access computers, wireless internet service, a Merlin magnifier, an adaptive workstation, and access to ebooks and digital audiobooks through the electronic library of the NBPLS.
