Our monthly Guitars at the Library group for kids is expanding!
We recently acquired a second-hand piano, so now we're having Music at the Library, a chance for children and teens who might not have access to an instrument or lessons to come and begin to learn, as well as an opportunity for those who are already learning piano or guitar to come and play with a group. The instruments aren't part of the circulating collection but are always available for interested young people to use in the library. However, we only have two guitars and a ukulele (and one of the guitars and the ukulele are just long-term loans).
We'd like to purchase two more guitars this autumn. We'd also like to buy some music stands and some beginners' music books for guitar and piano -- some for use in-library, some to go into the circulating collection. (Plus various musical oddments, like a couple of guitar stands, strings 'n' things ... etc!)
Can you help us out? Every little bit gets us that much closer to more music in the library!
